Lake Eufaula is Oklahoma's largest lake, at 102,500 acres, and is a premiere vacation and tournament fishing destination. The lake's 600-mile shoreline is a mix of cliffs, forests and sandy beaches. The cities and towns surrounding the lake provide lodging, dining, and historic venues.
Spring through fall, the lake is a popular spot for all kinds of water sports: boating, skiing, parasailing, and fishing. Marinas rim the lake and supply fishing supplies, skiing boats and skis, and pontoon and houseboat rentals.
Two state parks provide easy access to the lake and recreational activities. Arrowhead State Park and Lake Eufaula State Park have hiking trails, swimming beaches, and 18-hole, lake-view golf courses. Arrowhead State Park also has an equestrian campground. Public hunting areas are open around the lake.
Resorts around the lake offer vacation, meeting, and convention accommodations. In addition to on-the-lake recreation, these resorts offer horseback riding, hiking, tennis, golf, and a variety of dining and entertainment options.
A diversity of fishing habitats makes Lake Eufaula a top fishing destination for bass, catfish, crappie and stripers. Outfitters and fishing guide services are available in the towns around the lake. While many of the bass and crappie tournaments are held in spring and summer, year round fishing is possible from docks around the lake. Many are heated during the winter months.
Eufaula Lake is located in central western Oklahoma. It is 75 miles south of Muskogee, 100 miles east of Oklahoma City, and 58 miles west of Fort Smith, Arkansas. It is accessible via Interstate Highway 40 and U.S. Highways 69 and 75. Accommodations are available at the resorts and towns around the lake and include camping, cabins and hotels.
